Act 2
Scene 1. The apartment of Romeo and Juliet, in the house of Montague.
(Enter Romeo and Juliet.)
Juliet: Thy limbs do cradle around mine so dear,
Thy exquisite face pressed so close to mine,
When I wake, your passionate voice I hear.
Dear sweet husband, all of myself is thine!
Romeo: Enraptured am I by your glowing face,
Wide shining eyes and sweet enchanting air.
Your silken body, light and full of grace,
Queen crowned with a fall of shimmering hair.
Juliet: From when the nightingale starts to sing
To the last note sung by the lark that morn,
And the times in between, you are my king
Since I first loved you, I have been reborn.
Romeo: I will always have you within my heart,
Though I will leave you now, for I must start. (Exit Romeo.)
Juliet: (sings) O my love is the stars in the heavens,
O my love is the sun in the sky,
O my love is the world around me,
O my love is my everything!
(Enter Nurse.)
Nurse: How are you, my little bluebird?
Juliet: O wonderful, nurse! My love is to me
All of my heart, and he now has the key.
Nurse: And he's quite the fine figure of a man, is he? Long of leg and wielding steel?
Juliet: More than you can imagine in a man!
I was once a pure and innocent girl
Till Romeo did what only men can
And now he says I am a perfect pearl.
Nurse: Ay, well, and thy man is a lucky one.
Juliet: Tell me, nurse, how fare my parents?
