| We had the garden show cast party (finally!) on Friday night, at the site where all the work started. | |||

Wouldn't you love to have a view like that from your own vineyard? Donna was so generous to host the party and even more generous to let the show construction take over her stable (it's a horseless stable, so we didn't kick anyone out of the stalls) for all of fall and winter quarter. The party was your basic potluck barbeque, with Mark tackling both barbeque grills while the rest of us wandered the grounds and chatted. We tried to play badminton and volleyball before dinner, but we only had a few half-dead birdies (which we quickly executed in full) and not enough volleyball players. Mark and I tried to play a paddleball game, but between the too-hard ball and my ineptitude, it was more a find-the-ball-in-the-bushes-AGAIN game. | |||

| Then dinner was ready, and what a spread! There was no question of anyone going hungry that night. My rhubarb crisp was a big hit, which kind of surprised me since rhubarb is one of those flavors that not everyone likes. Unfortunately that meant Wayne and I didn't get to take any home. After more talk of Georgia O'Keefe, garden show photos, and not as many hugs as I wanted (*grin*...some things never change, y'know?), we headed off. | |||

I'm ready for the student garden tour and barbeque/potluck next month, though! Cheryl |
