So the quarter ended. Thank God, it was about time already. How'd I do? Well, the completed assignments got turned in at least. Just for fun I figured I'd show you a bit of what I did, though it's not the best work because that's either unscannable or in the hands of a teacher right now. This picture here, for example, is a rough sketch of a Chinese gown in the design gallery, with a made-up person inside it for my illustration class. I've also got here two of my fabric dyeing projects, a tank top with stamps all over and a tie-dyed "book" of skirts. |

I ended up dropping out of doing the fashion show class because I just could not get the work load done (sigh), but I know I'll already have clothes in the show from previous quarters anyway. If I had it to do over again I don't think I'd try to do the show, since it just wiped me out on top of everything else. I am looking forward to graduation and having free time in my life again. Other than doing some writing projects like for here that I never had time for this quarter, I plan to veg around and lay like broccoli for spring break. No thinking allowed! | ![]() |

My fnal quarter's schedule sounds like it will be very odd. As well as fabric dyeing part two, I signed up for a class called "Introduction to Computing in the Humanities." Which sounded right up my alley even though the description of it is vague. But then later on after I'd signed up I started hunting around for info on the class and only found the teacher's resume. Now is it just me, or does this sound more like a programming class than anything else? That worries me greatly because ever since they got rid of BASIC I haven't been able to program. Or even understand page 1, lesson 1 of any programming books I've tried to read since then. What do you guys think? |
My final class sounds like the lamest one on the face of the earth, even more off topic than some of my previous textile design classes, which I've been known to refer to as "basketweaving 101" and "making random objects for no good reason." It's Textiles in the Landscape. Doesn't that sound useful for a future career with clothes? I'm so not thrilled about taking this one, since it's inconveniently scheduled and I have yet to hear a good word about the incredibly flaky (as in rarely shows up, and if she does show up she's an hour late) professor from any student. However, I've got one requirement left and she teaches every class left on the list. Whee. Well, I can hope, maybe she'll be absent so much and be unable to keep up with the grading (another problem I've heard about her) that we'll hardly have any work. As for my job, I've sort of arranged (not finalized yet, but will probably happen) to go to a different full time position sometime in the fall. I hope this comes off, because I'm not planning to move and this is where I want to work. |
