About this wedding my Father and Bonnie had... They swore they didn't want anything particularly special for the big event, but I swear it was an extravaganza...

OK, maybe that's an exaggeration, but it WAS a whole-weekend kinda thing.

On the Friday night before the wedding there was a family dinner. The happy couple refused to have a wedding rehearsal, claiming they all "knew what to do". The poor wedding coordinator. She was a bit frazzled by the end, I know.

The dinner was really nice, the food and company excellent. It was more of a "getting- to-know-you" event. Bonnie has a ton of brothers and sisters, not all of whom could make the trip for the wedding, but there were quite a few in attendance. We ate, and drank and talked for a few hours before heading off to our respective homes or hotels.

The next day was the BIG day. I got my new car! And, Dad and Bonnie tied the knot! Of course, my getting my car was THE most important part! (LOL!! - Kidding!)

Family was supposed to be at the church an hour before the wedding so the photographer could get some pictures, and you know how THAT goes. Several folks were late, but we got as many pictures as possible.

Then, there was the wedding ceremony itself, nothing too elaborate, but elegant nonetheless.

Then, they kissed.

KISS!

Then, they were presented Mr. & Mrs.! YAY!

Mr.

The reception was another very fine affair. We enjoyed a sit-down dinner, drinks and dancing at the Chaparral Club, located on the 39th floor of the Adam's Mark Hotel in downtown Dallas. We had a really fun time with family and friends, chatting and eating, and drinking, and laughing. Everyone was happy, including the bride and groom! We heard speeches, and blessings, and wonderful toasts to the Couple of the Hour. There was the tossing of the bouquet, and the removal of the garter, cake-cutting, and more dancing. My Dad even did the Electric Slide!

Some time during the reception, my sisters managed to get to my Dad's Navigator and do some decorating, much to Dad's chagrin, but much to Bonnie's pleasure!

Whew! Finally, it was time to go home! But, that's not the end of the weekend. The next morning at 8 AM, there was Church service at Bonnie's church, then another following at 10:45 AM at my Dad's church. Then, after that, there was late lunch/early dinner at 3:00 PM at Pappadeaux!

WHEW! Finally, the weekend wedding extravaganza was finished! YAY! I was exhausted! I needed another day just to recuperate!

But, I'm happy for them. :)

And, I hope they'll live, as the fairy tale says, happily ever after.

Just
